    Default Nakamura to stay?

SHUNSUKE NAKAMURA has been offered 2million a year to stay with Celtic for as long as he wants - according to reports in Japan today.

That's twice the deal on the table at Yokohama Marinos, where the midfield star would like to return to be with his wife and kids.

Any offer from Celtic would include the lucrative image rights for the man who turns 31 next month.

Naka's agent, Roberto Takuda, met with Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell on Monday morning before flying out to Spain for discussions with other interested clubs.

advertisementThis resulted in offers from long-time admirers Atletico Madrid and Espanyol, while Hamburg also joined in the chase for the man who is currently in Tokyo preparing for international duty this weekend.

Nakamura has already turned down the chance to move to Spain or Germany, which leaves it a straight fight between Marinos and Celtic.

    Let him go ffs.

I'd love him to stay for a couple more years.

At the end of the day we'd need to shell out 3m+ to replace him.

Who knows guys, with a new manager actually playing Naka in a position where we can see the best of him, there might be a year or two left in him yet ?

I dont think he wants to stay though, there have been a lot of reports he is homesick and wants to go home, I would love him to stay but his hearts got to be in it

what do yout think his best position is martin?

i'd rather he went, think he's been poor this season. with a new manager coming in and money promised to him i'd like to think we'll splash the cash and get a replacement

I'd like it if he stayed, I just don't want us to overpay for him. Also, not too sure if he wants to stay...

For me Crosas is not going to work as the holding midfielder Clagan, for the very reason you give - he's not hard enough.

But I do like your line up here.

Put the money to tempting a decent manager ffs.

The only way I would want Naka to stay is to be a impact sub for the last 20minutes of games, can't afford to have him as a passenger...again.

aye a yaya toure/viera type destroyer in the middle would be ideal. was gutted when we missed out on vukojevic last summer, but we couldn't compete financially with kiev

I think he is pretty much our most reliable performer. He is the only guy we have that doesn't give the ball away.

But yes, it makes you wonder if we aren't willing to pay Coyle 500k but we are willing to double a 31 year old wages.

If Bilić comes, we might see Naka-san stay and play as AM. I hope that happens.
All hail the Sorcerer of Yokohama!!

Would love to see him stay of course as he can do what Iniesta and Xavi can do if he has the right players alongside him.

Too many players at Celtic at he moment can't think of their next pass before they get the ball and just as important, where to move off it.
